About Marina Match

Marina Match is a global online platform connecting boaters with marinas, yacht clubs and private jetty owners.

Boaters can search for and book berths, moorings and private jetties for short-term stays, or find a Home Port for long-term berthing. Marina Match also provides a marketplace for buying and selling marina berths and waterfront properties with boating facilities.

With multi-language and multi-currency support, Marina Match makes it easier to find, book and manage berthing wherever your boating takes you.

Click Register at the top right of any page and follow the prompts to create your Marina Match account.

You can register using your email address, or sign up with your Google, Facebook or Apple account for a quicker login without creating another password.

No. One Marina Match account does both.

You can use Boater mode to search for and book berths, and Dock Master mode to create and manage your listings. You can switch between Boater and Dock Master modes at any time using the same account and login.

Yes. The Marina Match mobile app is available for Android, and you can use the full Marina Match website on any phone, tablet or computer.

You can search for berths, make and manage bookings, access your booking details and connect with your Dock Master after your booking is confirmed - all using the same Marina Match account you use on the website.

For questions relating to a confirmed booking, you can contact your Dock Master using the contact details available through your Marina Match booking.

Marina Match is available worldwide. Boaters can search for and book listed berths from anywhere, with support for multiple languages and currencies.

Marinas, yacht clubs and private jetty owners can also list and manage berths from anywhere in the world. The Dock Master’s dashboard is currently available in English only, while the boater-facing platform supports multiple languages.

When you make a booking through Marina Match, your booking is governed by the terms and information that apply to that particular berth.

These may include your Booking Confirmation, the information and conditions shown on the listing, the Dock Master’s marina rules or special conditions, the applicable cancellation policy, and the berthing agreement that applies to your booking.

Where the Dock Master has not provided their own berthing terms, they may choose to use the Marina Match Standard Berthing Licence Agreement.

The berthing agreement is between you and the Dock Master. Marina Match provides the online platform that helps you find the berth, make the booking and process payment, but Marina Match does not own or operate the berth.

Finding and Booking a Berth

Use the search bar on the Marina Match home page and select Rent. Enter your destination, booking dates and preferred dock type, or select All to see all available options.

You can refine your search using filters such as vessel size, distance from your chosen destination and available facilities, such as electricity, water, fuel and other marina services.

If you save your vessel details in your profile — including length, beam, draft, vessel type and insurance information — you won’t need to enter your vessel size each time you search. Marina Match will automatically use your saved vessel details to find and show berths that are suitable for your boat.

Once you have found a berth that suits your vessel, open the listing to check the berth details, price, facilities and the cancellation policy that applies.

Select your dates, enter or confirm your vessel details, then continue to the booking summary.

Before payment you will be asked to review and accept the cancellation policy and the berthing agreement that apply to that berth.

You can then pay securely through Marina Match. Your booking is confirmed as soon as the payment is successful, and your booking confirmation and receipt are emailed to you.

All of your bookings, along with the Dock Master's contact details, are available in your Marina Match account.

Marina Match does not set a maximum vessel size, but each berth has its own size and vessel requirements.

Listings specify the vessel dimensions they can accommodate, such as maximum length, beam and draft, along with any other applicable restrictions.

If you save your vessel details in your Marina Match profile, the platform will automatically use them when you search and help show berths that are suitable for your vessel.

Marina Match offers a range of berthing, mooring and boat storage options, depending on what is available at your chosen destination. These may include:

  • Berths
  • Swing moorings
  • Pile moorings
  • Floating pens
  • Private jetties
  • Dry storage
  • PWC and jetski spaces
  • Accommodation, where the Dock Master offers it alongside berthing

Use the dock type filter when searching to narrow the results to the type of berthing, mooring or storage you need.

You don’t have to add your vessel details to create a Marina Match account, but saving them makes searching and booking much easier.

Add your vessel’s length, beam, draft, air draft, make, model, vessel type and insurance information on the My Vessel page in your Boater account. Marina Match can automatically use these details to help find berths that are suitable for your vessel, so you won’t need to enter the same information each time you search or book.

You can also add a photo of your vessel, which helps the Dock Master identify your boat when you arrive.

Your relevant vessel details are provided to the Dock Master as part of your booking, helping them confirm that the berth and access are suitable for your vessel.

For your safety, the Dock Master’s contact details are provided only after a booking is confirmed. This helps protect both boaters and Dock Masters from scams, fraudulent enquiries and unsafe contact outside the Marina Match platform.

Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll be able to access the Dock Master’s contact details for any arrival or stay-related communication.

If the berth you want is unavailable for your selected dates, you can join the waitlist for that listing.

when a suitable berth becomes available, the Dock Master can send you a booking offer with the available berth, dates and price.

There’s no obligation to accept the offer. Your booking only goes ahead if you choose to accept and complete the booking.

Yes. If your multihull, superyacht or extra-large vessel requires more space, you can add more than one berth to a single booking where suitable adjacent berths are available.

Some marinas may offer a combined-berth discount when multiple berths are used for one vessel. Any applicable discount will be shown before you confirm and pay for your booking.

A Home Port booking is a long-term berth - a minimum of twelve month agreement paid monthly rather than all at once.

Home Port agreements are arranged by the dock master, who sends you an offer with the monthly amount. Once you accept and enter a payment method, each month is charged automatically on its due date.

Yes. All boaters using Marina Match are required to hold current vessel insurance that includes appropriate public liability and cover for accidental damage caused by the vessel.

Your Certificate of Insurance is provided to the Dock Master as part of your booking, helping them verify that your vessel has the required insurance cover before your stay.

Marina Match helps you find suitable berths by matching the vessel information you provide — such as length, beam, draft, air draft and vessel type — with the information provided by the Dock Master.

However, as the boater, you are ultimately responsible for making sure your vessel can safely access, occupy and depart the berth.

Before travelling, consider your vessel’s dimensions and manoeuvrability as well as factors such as water depth, tides, weather, currents, bridge or overhead clearances and local navigation conditions.

Providing complete and accurate vessel information on your My Vessel page helps Marina Match and the Dock Master identify the most suitable berth for your vessel.

The boater is responsible for planning and safely undertaking the voyage to and from the booked berth.

Before travelling, you should check all relevant navigation and marine conditions, such as weather forecasts, wind, tides, currents, swell, water depth, under-keel clearance, bridge and overhead clearances, navigation hazards and local waterway restrictions.

Information provided by Marina Match or a Dock Master about local conditions can be helpful, but it should not replace your own voyage planning and judgement as the person operating the vessel.

Always make your own assessment of whether conditions are safe and suitable for your vessel before proceeding.

Payments and Fees

Yes. Marina Match adds a 3.5% booking fee to the berth price. The fee is clearly shown before you confirm and pay, so you can see the total cost of your booking upfront.

The booking fee helps us provide and maintain the Marina Match platform, including berth search, booking management, secure payments and customer support.

There are no joining or subscription fees for boaters — you only pay the Marina Match booking fee when you make a booking.

The berth price shown on Marina Match includes any applicable taxes. Before you confirm your booking, you’ll see a clear breakdown of the berth price, Marina Match booking fee and any additional charges included at the time of booking.

The total amount payable at the time of booking is shown before you confirm and pay.

Some marinas or clubs may charge additional fees during your stay, such as electricity, access key or fob deposits, liveaboard fees or other marina-specific charges. Where applicable, the Dock Master may send you an additional payment request through Marina Match.

We recommend checking the listing details and confirming any potential additional charges with the marina before booking.

A payment can fail for several reasons, such as incorrect card details or CVV, an expired card, insufficient funds, or your bank declining the transaction for security reasons.

If your payment is declined, check your card details and try again. If the problem continues, contact your bank or card provider, as they can usually see the specific reason the transaction was declined.

If your bank confirms there is no issue with your card and the payment still does not go through, please contact Marina Match and our team will help investigate the problem.

Marina Match uses Stripe, a leading global payment provider, to securely process payments and payouts through the platform.

Stripe provides secure payment technology, including encryption, identity verification for payout accounts and fraud-prevention tools. Marina Match does not directly store your full card details.

When you make a booking, your payment is processed securely through Stripe. The berth fee is held through the Marina Match payment process until check-in and is then paid to the Dock Master, while Marina Match retains the applicable booking fee.

Using Stripe allows Marina Match to provide a secure and streamlined payment process for both boaters and Dock Masters.

No. Marina Match does not directly hold your money. Your payment is securely processed and managed through Stripe, our payment provider.

When you make a booking, the berth payment is processed through Stripe and is not released to the Dock Master until you check in. Once your stay begins, the applicable berth fee is paid to the Dock Master, while Marina Match retains its booking fee.

This means your payment is handled securely through Stripe throughout the payment and payout process.

For a Home Port long-term berthing agreement, you can pay the agreed berth fee in monthly instalments rather than paying the full amount upfront.

Each monthly instalment is automatically charged to your saved payment method on its scheduled due date. We’ll send you a reminder three days before each payment is due.

You can view your full payment schedule in your Marina Match dashboard, including paid, upcoming and overdue instalments, so you can keep track of your Home Port payments throughout the agreement.

If a monthly instalment payment fails, Marina Match will retry the payment over the following two days and notify you by email if the payment is unsuccessful.

If the payment continues to fail, please check or update your saved payment method in your Marina Match dashboard and arrange payment of the outstanding balance as soon as possible.

Your Home Port agreement is not automatically cancelled after the first failed payment. However, as the boater, you are responsible for paying the agreed berthing fees when they are due. This responsibility forms part of your Home Port agreement and the applicable marina terms, as well as any rights and obligations that apply under relevant laws.

If you are having difficulty making a payment, we encourage you to contact the Dock Master as early as possible so the matter can be discussed and resolved before the outstanding balance increases.

Yes. A receipt or invoice is available for every booking and payment, including individual Home Port instalments.

You can view and download your payment records at any time from your Marina Match dashboard, making it easy to keep track of your bookings and payment history

Changes, Cancellations and Refunds

Yes. You can cancel your booking at any time.

The amount you may be refunded depends on the cancellation policy selected by the Dock Master and how far in advance of your scheduled arrival you cancel.

As a courtesy to the Dock Master and to give them an opportunity to offer the berth to another boater, we encourage you to provide as much notice as possible if your plans change.

Marina Match offers seven cancellation policy options. Each Dock Master chooses the policy that applies to their listing, and you can review it before making a booking.

Free Cancellation

  • Before arrival: Full refund
  • After arrival or no-show: No refund

Flexible

  • More than 48 hours before arrival: Full refund
  • Within 48 hours of arrival: 50% refund
  • After arrival or no-show: No refund

Moderate

  • More than 7 days before arrival: Full refund
  • Between 2 and 7 days before arrival: 50% refund
  • Less than 48 hours before arrival: No refund

Firm

  • More than 14 days before arrival: Full refund
  • Between 7 and 14 days before arrival: 50% refund
  • Less than 7 days before arrival: No refund

Strict

  • More than 30 days before arrival: Full refund
  • Between 14 and 30 days before arrival: 50% refund
  • Less than 14 days before arrival: No refund

Super Strict

  • More than 60 days before arrival: 50% refund
  • Less than 60 days before arrival: No refund

Non-Refundable

  • No refund once the booking is confirmed.

The cancellation policy that applies to your booking is shown on the listing and during the booking process, so we recommend reviewing it carefully before confirming your booking.

A Dock Master may choose to provide a full or partial refund at their discretion, even where the selected cancellation policy does not require one.

When you select a berth to book, the applicable cancellation policy is displayed at the bottom of the booking panel, below the Confirm Booking button.

You can review the policy before you confirm your booking and proceed to payment. It explains when you may be entitled to a full, partial or no refund if you later need to cancel.

Please take a moment to read the cancellation policy carefully before confirming your booking, as the policy shown will apply to your reservation.

Yes. In many cases, changing your booking can be a better option than cancelling it.

You can submit a Change Booking request from your Marina Match dashboard to request different dates, a longer or shorter stay, or a different berth. Your Dock Master will review the request and can accept it or propose an alternative.

If the agreed change increases the booking price, you’ll be asked to pay the difference. If the change reduces the booking price, the Dock Master may approve a full or partial refund of the difference, subject to the applicable cancellation policy and the agreed change.

Your original booking remains unchanged until the Change Booking request is agreed and confirmed.

If you cancel after the applicable refund period has ended, the Dock Master’s cancellation policy will apply and you may not be entitled to a refund. However, the Dock Master may choose to offer a full or partial refund at their discretion.

Cancellation policies help protect Dock Masters from lost income when a berth is cancelled and there may not be enough time to secure another booking. Marinas with high demand or limited berth availability may therefore choose stricter cancellation policies.

We recommend checking the cancellation policy shown on the listing before you book.

If you need to leave earlier than your booked departure date, you can submit a Change Booking request through Marina Match.

The Dock Master can review your request and may offer a partial refund for the unused portion of your stay. However, a refund is not guaranteed and will depend on the circumstances and the Dock Master’s agreement.

Your original booking remains in place unless the change is agreed and confirmed.

If you do not arrive for your booking and have not cancelled or contacted the Dock Master, your booking may be treated as a no-show. Any refund will be determined by the cancellation policy that applies to your booking.

If you know you will not be able to arrive as planned, please contact the Dock Master or cancel your booking through Marina Match as soon as possible. Giving early notice may allow the Dock Master to offer the berth to another boater and gives them more opportunity to assist with your situation.

We understand that boating plans can be affected by changing weather and marine conditions. If weather may prevent you from safely reaching the marina, contact your Dock Master as early as possible.

Where practical, we encourage boaters and Dock Masters to change the booking dates rather than cancel the booking.

Ordinary wind, rain or unfavourable weather does not automatically entitle you to a refund. However, severe or unsafe conditions may be considered, including:

  • Cyclones or official severe weather warnings
  • Dangerous sea or swell conditions
  • Flooding or storm surge
  • Port, waterway or marina closures
  • Government or marine authority restrictions
  • Other conditions that make it unsafe or impractical to navigate to the marina

Any cancellation, change or refund will be considered in accordance with the applicable cancellation policy and the circumstances of the event.

Force Majeure refers to an extraordinary event or circumstance beyond the reasonable control of the boater or Dock Master that prevents the booking from going ahead safely or as agreed.

Examples may include natural disasters, cyclones or severe storms, government or marine authority restrictions, port or harbour closures, major environmental incidents, war, terrorism or other serious events outside either party’s control.

If a Force Majeure event affects your booking, we encourage the boater and Dock Master to first consider a practical alternative, such as changing the booking dates or making another suitable arrangement, before cancelling.

Any cancellation or refund will be handled in accordance with the applicable booking terms, policies and circumstances of the event.

Yes. A Dock Master may choose to offer a full or partial refund even when the cancellation policy does not require one.

Any additional refund is at the Dock Master’s discretion and may depend on the circumstances of your cancellation. If you believe there are exceptional circumstances, you can contact your Dock Master and explain your situation.

However, a refund outside the applicable cancellation policy is not guaranteed.

Whether you are entitled to a refund generally depends on:

  • the cancellation policy that applies to your booking;
  • any additional refund or arrangement agreed between you and the Dock Master; and
  • any rights you may have under applicable consumer laws or other relevant laws.

Marina Match processes refunds in accordance with the applicable booking terms and any refund agreed by the Dock Master, while any rights you have under applicable law continue to apply.

Marina Match does not own or operate the marinas, yacht clubs or private jetties listed on the platform, so we generally do not decide whether a Dock Master should provide a refund beyond the cancellation policy that applies to your booking.

If you and your Dock Master cannot agree, Marina Match can review the booking details, applicable cancellation policy and communications made through the platform, and assist both parties in trying to resolve the matter.

Any rights or remedies available to either party under applicable consumer laws or other relevant laws are not affected.

Once your refund has been approved and processed, it will be returned through Stripe to the original payment method used for your booking.

Refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days, although the exact timing depends on your bank or card provider.

Once Marina Match has processed the refund, any additional processing time is controlled by your financial institution.

Yes, a Dock Master can change the cancellation policy for future bookings, but the change will not affect an existing confirmed booking.

The cancellation policy that was displayed and accepted when you made your booking will continue to apply to that booking, even if the Dock Master later changes the policy for their listing.

Every marina, yacht club and private jetty operates differently. Factors such as location, berth availability, seasonal demand, booking length and how easily a cancelled berth can be rebooked can affect the cancellation policy a Dock Master chooses.

For example, a marina with high demand and limited berth availability, or one accepting longer-term or seasonal bookings, may choose a stricter cancellation policy to help protect against lost income when a booking is cancelled.

Marina Match allows each Dock Master to select the cancellation policy that best suits their operation, while ensuring the applicable policy is clearly shown to boaters before they confirm a booking.

For questions about the berth, arrival or departure arrangements, booking dates, changes, cancellations or refunds, please contact your Dock Master. Their contact details are available through Marina Match once your booking is confirmed.

The Dock Master manages the berth and is usually the best person to assist with matters relating directly to your stay.

For help with the Marina Match website or mobile app, your account, payments or technical issues, please contact the Marina Match team and we’ll be happy to assist.

If you expect to arrive later than your scheduled arrival time, please contact your Dock Master as soon as possible.

Early notice gives the Dock Master an opportunity to make alternative arrival arrangements, particularly where marina access, staffing, gates or other facilities have restricted operating hours.

If you do not arrive within the agreed arrival period and have not contacted the Dock Master, your booking may eventually be treated as a no-show in accordance with the cancellation policy that applies to your booking.

If your plans change, communicating early is always the best option.

Your vessel should leave the berth by the agreed departure time shown on your booking.

If you need additional time, contact your Dock Master as early as possible and ask whether your stay can be extended. Any extension is subject to berth availability and the Dock Master’s approval.

Remaining in the berth beyond your agreed departure time without approval may result in additional berthing fees or reasonable costs, particularly if another vessel is scheduled to use the berth.

If you need to stay longer, please request the change before your scheduled departure wherever possible.

If you expect to arrive before your scheduled arrival time, please contact your Dock Master before entering or occupying the berth.

The berth may still be occupied, reserved for another vessel, undergoing maintenance or otherwise unavailable, even if it appears to be empty.

If the berth is ready and the Dock Master agrees, they may allow you to check in earlier. If an early arrival cannot be accommodated, you’ll need to wait until your scheduled arrival time or follow any alternative instructions provided by the Dock Master.

When planning your voyage, it is a good idea to consider a safe and lawful temporary anchorage or other suitable waiting location nearby in case you arrive early and your berth is not yet available. Always check local anchoring restrictions, weather, tides, water depth and other navigation conditions when choosing where to wait.

Please do not enter or occupy a berth early without the Dock Master’s approval.

Listing Your Berth for Rent

Creating a rental listing on Marina Match is simple and can be completed in five main steps.

First, create your Marina Match account, log in and click Manage Listing from the menu at the top of the Marina Match page.

If this is your first time listing, you’ll be asked to set up your Dock Master Profile. Tell us whether you are listing as an individual, business, marina, yacht club or other organisation, then set your preferred currency and provide the required business and tax information.

Once your Dock Master Profile is complete, you can start creating your rental listing.

1. Add your marina or property

From the Dock Master dashboard, open Rent Listings from the menu on the left and select Add Marina.

Complete the general information about your marina, yacht club or private waterfront property, such as its location, description, amenities and facilities, office hours, photos and other relevant information.

This creates the main property record to which your individual berths, moorings or jetties will be added.

2. Add your berths

Select Edit Berth and add the berth, mooring or jetty spaces you want to make available for booking.

For each berth, enter information such as its dimensions, vessel limits, berth type, price and availability.

If you manage a large number of similar berths, you don’t need to create every berth from scratch. Simply create one berth with the appropriate settings and duplicate it to quickly create additional berths, then adjust the individual details where necessary.

3. Position your berths on the map

Select Map to open the Marina Match Map Editor.

If this is your first time setting up the marina map, simply select a berth from the panel and place it in its actual location on the map. You can move and rotate each berth to represent the marina layout accurately.

You can also draw features such as piers and piles to help create a clear representation of the marina or waterfront property.

The map helps boaters understand exactly where their berth is located before they arrive. It also becomes an important management tool for Dock Masters, providing a visual overview of berth locations, availability and marina activity.

4. Set up your Payout Account

From the Dock Master dashboard, select Payout Account from the menu and follow the step-by-step instructions to complete your setup and verification through Stripe.

Your Payout Account is required for rental listings so Marina Match can securely send you payments from confirmed bookings.

5. Submit your listing for review

Once your marina information, berths, map and Payout Account are ready, submit your listing for review.

The Marina Match team will review your listing and let you know if any information needs to be corrected, completed or improved. Once approved, your rental listing will be published on Marina Match and available for boaters to find and book.

Listing review normally takes 2–3 business days.

There is no fee to create or publish a rental listing and no subscription fee. Marina Match earns its fee only when a booking is successfully made through the platform.

When setting up your Dock Master Profile, you will be asked to select the type that best represents you or your organisation:

  • Individual - a private person listing their own berth, mooring or private jetty.
  • Sole trader - an individual operating a business as a sole trader.
  • Company / Corporation - a registered company or corporate entity.
  • Government / Public Authority - a government body, council, port authority or other public organisation.
  • Club / Association - a yacht club, boat club or similar association.
  • Other - for organisations or operators that do not fit one of the categories above.

Choose the Dock Master type that best reflects your legal or business structure and tax requirements. Your selection does not limit the number of berths you can list and does not change Marina Match's fees. It is used to help configure your account, business and tax information, booking rules and payment records correctly.

Who may book your berths is set separately on each listing, under Marina type:

  • Commercial marina
  • Private jetty or berth
  • Club / Association - Members Only, where berthing is available only to boaters on your member list.
  • Club / Association - Members & Visitors, where your club also accepts bookings from non-members.

For Members Only listings, boaters must hold the required membership to book. Where your club offers membership through Marina Match, eligible non-members can be directed to join before completing their booking. Choose Members & Visitors if your club accepts non-member bookings, and set a member price on any berth where members pay a different rate.

No. It is free to create and publish a rental listing on Marina Match. There is no initial setup fee and no monthly subscription fee for Dock Masters.

Marina Match charges a small booking fee to the boater when a booking is made through the platform. You set your berth price, and the applicable Marina Match booking fee is added to the boater’s payment.

A Dock Master cancellation charge may apply if you cancel a confirmed boater’s booking without an appropriate reason. This helps cover costs associated with the cancellation, including the Marina Match booking fee that may need to be refunded to the boater and payment-processing costs incurred during the refund process.

We encourage Dock Masters to avoid cancelling confirmed bookings wherever possible and to first consider offering the boater an alternative berth or a change to their booking.

Marina Match charges a 3.5% booking fee, calculated on the berth price.

The booking fee is added to the amount the boater pays, so it does not come out of the berth price you have set. You set the price you want to receive for your berth, and Marina Match adds the applicable booking fee to the boater’s payment.

The fee only applies when a booking is successfully made — there is no Marina Match booking fee when your berth is vacant or unbooked.

Marina Match covers the standard payment-processing cost associated with the booking fee. If you prefer to absorb some or all of the Marina Match fee into your advertised pricing, you can adjust your berth price accordingly.

There is no setup fee, no monthly subscription fee and no additional charge to use the Marina Match marina map and management tools.

Yes. Marina Match gives you flexibility to set pricing for each berth based on the length of stay.

You can set individual prices for:

  • 1 night
  • 1 week
  • 1 month
  • 3 months
  • 6 months
  • 1 year

You only need to enter prices for the booking periods you want to offer. If you leave a period blank, that stay option will not be available for booking.

You can also set percentage discounts for longer stays, including weekly, monthly, 3-month, 6-month and 1-year bookings.

For multihulls, superyachts or other large vessels that require more than one berth, you can set a combined-berth discount when multiple suitable berths are booked together for one vessel.

You can also use the Berth Calendar to override your standard price for particular dates or periods, giving you flexibility to adjust pricing for seasonal demand, special events or other circumstances.

Yes. You can set a minimum stay requirement for each berth.

Open the Edit Berth page and you’ll find the Minimum Stay setting near the bottom of the page. Enter the minimum booking period you want to accept for that berth.

Once set, boaters will only be able to make bookings that meet or exceed your minimum stay requirement.

The Marina Match interactive marina map is designed to support both online bookings and everyday marina management. Think of it as a virtual version of your marina, showing your berths, vessels and availability in one place.

Once you have added your berths, open Map and select Map Editor. Your saved berths will appear in the editor, ready to be positioned.

Using the satellite map as a guide, simply select a berth and place it in its actual location. You can move and rotate berths, and draw marina features such as piers, jetty arms, fingers and mooring piles. You can also position swing moorings and other berthing areas. Marina Match automatically records the geographic coordinates of the positioned berths.

When you’re happy with the layout, select Save Position. Your marina map can then be used by both boaters and your marina team.

For boaters, the map helps them understand where their berth is located within the marina. For Dock Masters, it provides a live visual overview of the marina, including which vessel is in each berth, berth size and pricing, and whether a berth is available, occupied or blocked.

If you need to move a vessel to another suitable berth, you can update its berth allocation and the boater can see the updated berth location. Berth information such as size, pricing and availability can be managed through Edit Berth, while its physical position can be changed through the Map Editor.

Need help setting up your map?

We’re happy to build your marina map for you free of charge.

Simply send us your marina or berth layout, berth dimensions and pricing information, and our team can set it up for you. A standard marina map setup normally takes around 1–3 business days.

The Dock Master Dashboard gives you a quick overview of what is happening across your marina, yacht club or private berthing facility, including items that may need your attention.

You can view all of your marinas together or select an individual marina, and filter dashboard information by time period.

At a glance, the dashboard shows you:

  • Arriving Today – vessels expected to arrive today.
  • Departing Today – vessels scheduled to leave today.
  • New Requests – booking change requests waiting for your attention.
  • Overdue Payments – instalments or other payments that require attention.
  • Arrivals & Departures – a daily list of vessels arriving and leaving, including their berth and booking details.
  • Booking Change Requests – requests to extend, shorten or otherwise change an existing booking.
  • Notifications – recent bookings and other important account activity.
  • Berths – the total number of berths across your rental listings.
  • Confirmed Bookings – your confirmed booking activity.
  • Paid Out – the amount already transferred to your bank account.
  • Earnings – an overview of paid and upcoming earnings, with monthly, quarterly and yearly views.
  • Berths Today – a snapshot of which berths are occupied, becoming free or currently open.
  • Waiting List – boaters waiting for a suitable berth, including the marina, berth and stay they are looking for.
  • Recent Bookings – your latest confirmed bookings and booking values.
  • Insurance Expiring – alerts for vessel insurance that has expired or is approaching expiry.

The Dashboard is designed to give you a daily operational snapshot without having to open each management section individually. From there, you can select an item that needs attention and go directly to the relevant booking, payment, waitlist or management page.

Getting started is easy. There is no subscription contract, setup fee or monthly fee, so you can simply create your Marina Match account and start setting up your marina.

Once logged in, click Manage Listing from the menu at the top of the Marina Match page. This will take you to the Dock Master management area, where you can set up your Dock Master Profile and begin adding your marina, berths, pricing, availability and marina map.

If you would like help getting started, our team is happy to assist. You can contact us or schedule a virtual meeting or platform walkthrough through our Contact Us page:

Contact Marina Match / Book a Meeting

Your Dock Master Dashboard gives you a quick view of vessels arriving and departing today, so you can easily see what is happening at your marina.

To manage your bookings, select Bookings from the menu on the left of the Dock Master management page.

You can filter bookings by type, including Casual and Home Port, or search for a specific booking using the boater’s name, vessel name, email address, phone number or booking number.

Select a booking to open the Booking Details page, where you can review the boater, vessel, berth, stay, payment and other relevant booking information.

To communicate with a boater, select Send Message from their Booking Details page. You can also open Messages from the menu on the left to quickly view and communicate with boaters from your recent bookings.

For Casual bookings, your payout is released the day after the boater checks in.

This short delay is part of Marina Match’s booking protection process. It helps ensure that the boater has arrived and the booked berth is available as expected before the berth payment is released to the Dock Master.

For Home Port long-term agreements, your payout is released the day after each scheduled monthly payment is successfully charged. For example, if a monthly payment is charged on the 1st of the month, the payout is released to you on the 2nd.

Once released, the payment is processed through Stripe and sent to the bank account connected to your verified Payout Account. Your first payout may take an extra two to three days to arrive while Stripe completes its initial checks on your new account. Although Marina Match releases the payout according to this schedule, the time it takes to appear in your bank account may vary depending on Stripe and your financial institution’s processing times.

You receive the berth price you set. The Marina Match booking fee is charged separately to the boater and is not deducted from your berth price.

Your listed berth prices should be inclusive of any applicable taxes.

You can keep track of completed and upcoming payments from the Rent Earnings → Payments section of your Dock Master management page.

If your business is registered or required to charge tax on berthing fees, you should enter the applicable tax information in your Dock Master Profile.

You can provide details such as the tax name (for example, GST, VAT or Sales Tax), the applicable tax rate, and your business or tax registration number. Where applicable, these details will appear on the boater’s receipt or invoice for their records.

The berth price you enter on Marina Match should be inclusive of any applicable taxes. For example, if you charge GST, the price displayed to the boater should already include GST rather than having it added later at checkout.

If you are not registered or required to charge tax, you can leave the tax fields blank.

Tax requirements vary between countries and jurisdictions, so Dock Masters are responsible for ensuring their tax information and pricing are appropriate for their own business and location.

Yes. Marina Match supports two types of Club / Association listings:

Members Only – Berthing is available only to your club or association members. Boaters must be recognised as a member in your Member List on the Dock Master management page. If they are not currently a member and your club offers membership through Marina Match, they will be prompted to join and pay the applicable membership fee before they can complete their booking.

Members & Visitors – Your club can accept bookings from both members and non-members. You can set different berth prices for members and visitors, allowing eligible members to receive your member rate while visitors pay the applicable non-member rate.

This allows clubs and associations to maintain their membership benefits while also choosing whether to make their berths available to visiting boaters.

The waitlist helps you capture booking demand even when Marina Match cannot immediately find a suitable available berth for a boater.

A boater may join the waitlist when, for example, your berths are fully booked, availability is blocked, or an available berth does not quite meet their vessel requirements.

You can review waitlist requests from your Dock Master management page and see what the boater needs. You may be able to accommodate them by adjusting berth allocations, using available space more efficiently, offering another suitable berth, or working around existing booking dates.

If a suitable option becomes available — including when another booking changes or is cancelled — you can send the boater a booking offer with the proposed berth, dates and price.

The boater is under no obligation to accept. If they accept the offer and complete payment, it becomes a confirmed booking.

The waitlist helps you avoid losing potential bookings simply because the right berth was not immediately available.

Yes. If your Dock Master business type is set as a Club / Association, you can set a membership fee through Marina Match.

Go to Members from the menu on the left of your Dock Master management page and set your annual membership fee.

If an eligible non-member wants to book a berth that requires membership, Marina Match can prompt them to join your club or association and pay the applicable membership fee as part of the booking process.

Memberships are currently set for a 12-month period. Once a boater joins, their membership can be recorded in your Marina Match member list so their membership status can be recognised for future bookings.

Yes. Dock Masters can choose to use their own berthing agreement or terms and conditions instead of the Marina Match Standard Berthing Licence Agreement.

To upload your own agreement, go to Rent Listings from the menu on the left of your Dock Master management page, select Edit Marina, then open the Documents tab. From there, you can upload the berthing agreement you want to apply to your bookings.

When a boater books with you, they will be provided with your agreement and will be required to review and electronically accept it before they can complete their booking. This helps ensure that the applicable berthing terms are presented and accepted as part of the Marina Match booking process.

If you do not have your own berthing agreement, you can choose to use the Marina Match Standard Berthing Licence Agreement, which provides a general framework covering the responsibilities of the Dock Master and boater.

Any agreement or terms you provide remain subject to the laws and requirements that apply to your marina, organisation and jurisdiction.

Listing for Sale

Listing a berth or waterfront property for sale on Marina Match is simple.

  • Create your Marina Match account Register or log in to your Marina Match account, then click Manage Listing from the menu at the top of the page.
  • Open Sale Listings From the Dock Master management page, select Sale Listings from the menu on the left, then click List Berth for Sale at the top of the page.
  • Choose what you are selling Select the type of property or berthing asset you want to list, such as a marina berth, swing mooring, floating pen, dry storage, private jetty, commercial jetty, waterfront property or entire marina.
  • Create your sale listing Add the listing details, including the description, photos, location and asking price.

If you prefer not to display an asking price, simply leave the price field blank and the listing will be displayed as POA – Price on Application.

Click Save and your listing will be stored as a draft, allowing you to review or edit it before submitting.

  • Submit for review and publish When your listing is ready, click Submit for Review. The Marina Match team will review the listing and let you know if anything needs to be completed or improved. Review normally takes 1–3 business days.

Once approved, your listing can be published. During the free sale listing promotion until 31 December 2026 there is no listing fee to pay.

It is currently free. Marina Match is offering a special promotion until 31 December 2026, allowing you to list a marina berth, mooring or waterfront property with a private jetty for sale at no charge.

After the promotional period ends, the standard sale listing fee will be AUD $55 (AUD $50 + GST) for a 12-month listing.

There are no additional Marina Match commissions on the sale price. The listing fee covers advertising your property on Marina Match for the applicable listing period.

A sale listing remains published on Marina Match for 12 months from the date it goes live.

If your berth or property sells during that time, you can mark the listing as Sold.

If it has not sold by the end of the 12-month listing period, you can re-list it for another 12 months. The sale listing fee applicable at the time of re-listing will apply.

Your sale listing will go live once it has been reviewed and approved by the Marina Match team and any applicable listing fee has been paid.

Our review normally takes 1–3 business days. If we notice any missing information or something that could improve your listing, we may contact you before approving it.

During our free sale listing promotion until 31 December 2026, there is no payment step. Once your listing is approved, it can be published and made visible to buyers on Marina Match.

We’ll email you seven days before your sale listing expires, and again on the expiry date, so you have time to decide whether you would like to continue advertising.

After the 12-month listing period ends, your listing will remain visible for an additional seven-day grace period. If you do not re-list during that time, the listing will be taken offline.

Don’t worry — your listing information will not be deleted. You can re-list it at any time without having to create the listing again from scratch.

When you re-list, the sale listing fee applicable at that time will apply and a new 12-month listing period will begin.

Yes. If your sale listing expires and you would like to continue advertising, simply open the listing and select Re-list.

Re-listing starts a new 12-month listing period, and the sale listing fee applicable at the time of re-listing will apply.

During Marina Match’s free sale listing promotion until 31 December 2026, there is no listing fee to pay if you re-list while the promotion is still available.

Congratulations! Once your berth, mooring or property has sold, simply open your Marina Match listing and mark it as Sold.

Once marked as Sold, the listing will be automatically unpublished and will no longer be visible to potential buyers, preventing any further enquiries for something that is no longer available.

The listing will remain in your account for your records.

No. A Payout Account is only required if you are creating rental listings and receiving booking payments through Marina Match.

For sale listings, Marina Match provides the platform to advertise your berth, mooring or property and connect you with interested buyers. Marina Match does not handle the purchase price or form part of the sale transaction between you and the buyer.

For this reason, you do not need to set up or verify a Payout Account to publish a sale listing.

Payout Account Setup & Verification (Stripe)

Identity verification helps ensure that booking payments are sent to the correct and authorised person or organisation.

Marina Match uses identity verification to support security, accountability and fraud prevention for both boaters and Dock Masters. It also helps prevent unauthorised payout accounts from being created and supports the financial and regulatory requirements that apply to online payment services.

Verification must be completed before you can receive booking payments through Marina Match.

Our Payout Accounts are powered by Stripe, a leading global payment provider. Sensitive identity, banking and payout information required for verification is securely handled through Stripe’s payment infrastructure rather than being entered directly into Marina Match.

This process helps provide a safer and more accountable payment environment for everyone using the platform.

Setting up your Payout Account usually takes only a few minutes.

Before you begin, have your government-issued identification and bank account details ready. For security and identity verification, make sure you use your legal name and accurate business information that matches your official records.

  • Open your Dock Master management page Log in to your Marina Match account and click Manage Listing from the menu at the top of the page.
  • Open Payout Account From the Dock Master management page, select Payout Account near the bottom of the menu on the left.
  • Start your Stripe setup Click Set Up Payout Account. You’ll be securely guided through the Stripe verification and payout setup process.

If you would like some help before starting, you can also watch the Payout Account setup video on this page, which walks you through the process in more detail.

  • Complete your verification Follow the instructions provided by Stripe and enter the required identity, business and bank account information. You may be asked to provide identification as part of the verification process.

For security purposes, always use your correct legal name and genuine identification details. If you are registering a business or organisation, make sure the information you provide matches its official registration details.

Once Stripe has successfully verified and approved your Payout Account, your account will be ready to receive rental booking payments, and your rental listing can proceed to publication.

No. You need to set up your Payout Account before your rental listing can accept online bookings.

Your Payout Account provides the verified payment details needed for Stripe to securely send your booking payments to the correct bank account.

You can still create and edit your marina, add berths, set your pricing and availability, and build your marina map before completing your Payout Account setup.

Once your Payout Account is successfully set up and your rental listing has been reviewed, approved and published, boaters can find your listing and make bookings through Marina Match.

Yes. You do not necessarily need to own or operate a registered business to set up a Payout Account and receive rental booking payments through Marina Match.

If you are a private person listing your own berth, mooring or private jetty, select Individual as your Dock Master type. If you operate as a registered sole trader, select Sole Trader instead.

When setting up your Payout Account through Stripe, provide your legal name, identification and bank details as requested so Stripe can verify your identity and payout information.

Any business registration, tax or other legal obligations that apply to your rental activity will depend on your location and individual circumstances.

If your marina, yacht club or business has its own website, you can enter that website address.

If you do not have your own website — for example, if you are a private jetty or berth owner — you can enter www.marinamatch.org.

This helps indicate that your rental bookings and payments are being managed through the Marina Match platform.

Not necessarily. The information required to set up your Payout Account depends on your country, account type and business structure.

If you are listing as an Individual, you may not have a business registration number. If you are operating as a business, company, club or other organisation, Stripe may ask for your applicable business registration or tax identification number, such as an ABN in Australia.

Simply follow the instructions provided during the Stripe setup process and provide the information that applies to your circumstances.

The information Stripe asks for depends on your country, business type and account setup, but you may be asked to provide:

  • Your full legal name
  • Your date of birth
  • Your residential address
  • A valid government-issued identity document, such as a passport or driver licence
  • Your bank account details for receiving payouts
  • Your business or organisation name and address, if applicable
  • Your business registration or tax identification number, if applicable
  • Information about the owners, directors or representatives of a business or organisation, where required
  • Additional documents, such as proof of address or business registration, if Stripe needs further verification

Make sure the information you provide is accurate and that names and other details match your official identification and business records.

Stripe may also request additional information later if verification requirements change or further verification is required.

Your identity and payout verification is handled securely through Stripe as part of setting up your Marina Match Payout Account.

Yes. Marina Match uses Stripe Connect to securely manage Payout Accounts, payment processing and payouts.

When you set up your Payout Account, sensitive financial and identity information is handled through Stripe’s secure payment infrastructure. Stripe uses encryption and other security controls to protect financial information against unauthorised access or misuse.

Marina Match does not receive your online banking login credentials or full card details. We only use the account and payment information made available through Stripe that is necessary to operate your Marina Match Payout Account and process bookings, payments, refunds and payouts.

Using Stripe Connect allows Marina Match to provide secure payments without requiring Dock Masters to provide sensitive banking information directly to Marina Match.

Marina Match deliberately uses Stripe Connect to handle sensitive banking and payout information rather than asking Dock Masters to provide those details directly to us.

Stripe is a specialist global payment provider with security systems designed for payment processing, identity verification and financial data protection.

Keeping sensitive banking information within Stripe’s secure payment infrastructure helps reduce the amount of financial information Marina Match needs to handle directly and provides an additional layer of security for both Dock Masters and boaters.

That is why your Payout Account and bank details are set up securely through Stripe, rather than being entered directly into Marina Match.

Yes. Setting up your Payout Account is designed to be straightforward, with step-by-step instructions guiding you through the process. For most people, it only takes a few minutes.

We also provide a How to Set Up Your Payout Account video that walks you through the process in more detail.

If you get stuck or are unsure what to do at any stage, please contact the Marina Match team. We’ll be happy to guide you through the setup process.

You can still create and edit your rental listings, add berths, set pricing and availability, and set up your marina map without completing your Payout Account.

However, your rental listing cannot be published to accept online bookings until your Payout Account setup and required Stripe verification are complete.

This is because Marina Match needs a verified Payout Account to securely process your booking payments and send your berth earnings to you.

You can return to Payout Account from your Dock Master management page at any time to complete the setup.

No. Setting up a Payout Account with Stripe does not register a company or, by itself, mean that you are starting a business.

The Payout Account setup is used to verify your identity and payment details so Stripe can securely send your rental booking payments to you.

If you are a private individual renting out your own berth, mooring or jetty, you can select Individual as your Dock Master type rather than registering as a company or other business entity.

Depending on where you live and your individual circumstances, receiving rental income may have tax, registration or other legal implications, so you remain responsible for any requirements that apply in your jurisdiction.

Safety, Insurance and Privacy

Yes. Boaters using Marina Match are required to hold current vessel insurance, including appropriate public liability and accidental damage cover.

The boater’s Certificate of Insurance is provided to the Dock Master as part of the booking information, allowing you to review the vessel’s insurance details before or during the stay.

Together with the boater’s vessel information and identification details, this helps Dock Masters know which vessel is arriving and who is responsible for it, while providing greater confidence that appropriate insurance cover is in place.

Yes. Safety is a shared responsibility. Both Dock Masters and boaters are expected to follow applicable maritime laws, navigation rules, marina requirements and local safety regulations.

Dock Masters are responsible for providing accurate information about their berth and facilities, disclosing known hazards or restrictions, and taking reasonable care to maintain the berth and included facilities in a condition suitable for their intended use.

Boaters are responsible for the safe condition, navigation and operation of their vessel, providing accurate vessel information, maintaining the required insurance, and following marina rules and lawful safety directions.

Both sides are expected to communicate promptly, act responsibly and put the safety of people, vessels, property and the marine environment first.

Marina Match monitors the platform for unusual or suspicious activity and reviews listings as part of our publishing process. However, as an online marketplace, we cannot physically inspect or independently verify every marina, berth, mooring or private jetty listed on the platform.

Dock Masters who receive rental booking payments through Marina Match are required to set up a verified Payout Account through Stripe, helping establish the identity of the person or organisation receiving your payment.

For your protection, we strongly recommend keeping bookings, payments and booking-related communication within Marina Match. This creates a platform record of your booking and payment.

If someone asks you to make a booking or payment outside Marina Match, please use caution. Payments or arrangements made privately outside the platform are not recorded by Marina Match and may limit our ability to assist if something goes wrong.

If you notice a listing, message or payment request that appears suspicious, please contact Marina Match.

Yes. Marina Match takes the privacy and security of your personal information seriously.

Your personal information is not made publicly available simply because you have a Marina Match account. Information is used and shared only as necessary to provide Marina Match services, where you have authorised it, or where disclosure is required or permitted by law.

When you make a booking, relevant information such as your name, contact details, vessel information and insurance details may be provided to the Dock Master so they can manage your booking, identify your vessel and prepare for your arrival.

We also recommend keeping booking-related communication within Marina Match wherever possible, so there is a clear record of information exchanged in relation to your booking.

For full details about how Marina Match collects, uses, stores and shares personal information, please see our Privacy Policy.

Can a Dock Master move my vessel to another berth?

Yes, where reasonably necessary. In a commercial marina or yacht club, operational circumstances may sometimes require a vessel to be moved to another suitable berth.

This may be necessary for marina operations, safety, maintenance, emergencies, changing weather or tidal conditions, navigation requirements, vessel dimensions or regulatory requirements.

Where a vessel needs to be moved by the marina, this should be carried out by appropriately authorised and suitably trained marina or club personnel in accordance with the marina’s procedures and applicable requirements.

Where reasonably practicable, the Dock Master should notify you before moving your vessel and provide another berth that is reasonably suitable for your vessel.

The Dock Master and marina remain responsible for exercising reasonable care when handling or relocating your vessel. If loss or damage is caused by the Dock Master’s negligence or breach of their obligations while moving the vessel, responsibility may rest with the Dock Master, subject to the applicable agreement and law.

In an emergency, or where immediate action is reasonably necessary because of weather, tides, safety risks or another urgent marine condition, the Dock Master may need to move or secure the vessel without obtaining your prior approval.

If the relocation becomes necessary because of the boater’s breach, negligence or an unsafe condition caused by the vessel, the boater may remain responsible for applicable costs or damage.

For private jetties or privately managed berths, vessel relocation should not be undertaken unless the person doing so is appropriately authorised and competent to safely handle the vessel.

If you, your vessel, crew, passengers, visitors or pets cause damage during your stay, you may be responsible for the reasonable cost of repairing that damage.

This can include damage to the berth, jetty, pontoon, piles, moorings, marina equipment or other marina property, as well as damage to neighbouring vessels or other third-party property.

If an accident or damage occurs, notify the Dock Master as soon as reasonably possible. Take reasonable steps to prevent further damage and keep relevant information about the incident, including photographs and details of any vessels, property or people involved.

You should also notify your insurer as soon as practicable where the incident may result in an insurance claim.

Depending on where the incident occurs and the seriousness of the damage, there may also be a legal requirement to report the incident to the relevant maritime, port, police, environmental or other government authority. Reporting requirements, damage thresholds and time limits vary between countries and jurisdictions, so both boaters and Dock Masters should check and comply with the requirements that apply at the location of the incident.

Some incidents may require reporting regardless of the monetary value of the damage, particularly where there is personal injury, environmental damage or pollution, a collision, sinking, grounding or another serious marine safety incident.

Where a report is legally required, the responsible person should make the report within the required timeframe and cooperate with the relevant authority, insurer and other parties involved.

This is one of the reasons Marina Match requires boaters to maintain appropriate vessel insurance and applicable liability cover.

If there is an immediate threat to life, safety, a vessel, marina property or the environment, contact the appropriate local emergency services or maritime authority first.

You should also notify your Dock Master as soon as possible about serious incidents affecting the marina or your vessel, such as fire, flooding, fuel or oil spills, pollution, structural damage or another marine emergency.

Follow any lawful emergency or safety directions given by the Dock Master, marina staff or relevant authorities.

In an emergency, the Dock Master may take reasonable action to protect people, vessels, property or the environment, including securing or relocating a vessel, disconnecting utilities or arranging emergency assistance.

Yes, in certain circumstances. A Dock Master may refuse entry or require a vessel to leave if they reasonably believe it presents a safety, environmental or operational risk.

For example, this may apply if a vessel is unsafe, unseaworthy, leaking, creating a pollution risk, on fire, abandoned or otherwise poses a risk to people, property or the environment.

Boaters are responsible for providing accurate vessel information when booking and ensuring their vessel is seaworthy, appropriately insured and suitable for the booked berth. A legitimate refusal based on the condition of the vessel, inaccurate vessel information or a genuine safety concern is different from a Dock Master simply cancelling a confirmed booking.

If a Dock Master can no longer provide a confirmed berth for reasons attributable to the Dock Master, they should first consider whether they can offer the boater a suitable alternative berth or an agreed change to the booking.

Where the Dock Master proceeds with cancelling a confirmed booking, the boater may need to be refunded not only the applicable berth fee, but also the Marina Match booking fee the boater paid. The Dock Master may therefore be charged a Dock Master cancellation charge to cover the Marina Match booking fee being returned to the boater, together with applicable payment-processing or refund costs arising from the cancellation.

These charges recognise that the boater made and paid for a confirmed booking in reliance on the berth being available and that additional transaction costs can arise when the Dock Master cancels it.

Any applicable cancellation charge will be shown to the Dock Master before the cancellation is confirmed.

Where reasonably practicable, the Dock Master should communicate the reason for refusing entry or cancelling the booking and work with the boater to find a practical alternative before cancellation.
